A Belgian Pioneer

Post by DH106 »

The world's first pressurised airliner, the Renard R.35. Unfortunately it crashed early in its first flight, fatally for the pilot and the project. The cutaway in an 80s Air international does not show provision for a toilet, so there may have been multiple pressures had it entered service.

Superb achievement, once again
Apart from the number of engines, it seems that the SNAC Belphegor was inspired by its design

No-one can say the SIG just turns out Spitfires and F-16s - The originality you all bring absolutely inspires me, I wonder how many of our members read The Aviation Historian!! - marvellous work !

Most interesting aircraft. Is it a scratch build or a kit?

I would be curious to know more about the build too. It’s absolutely beautiful.

Lovely models, and interesting subjects David and Teddybeer, what is the single engine one?

The Belphégor is wonderful. Really my sort of aircraft. You wonder about the design process that led to using what was essentially a He177 power plant. The look of the front end suggests the engineers thought they could always add another air intake but ran out of space.
