Mildenhall Saturday 9th May

Post by daveF »

It's a long drive so a night at The Nook campsite was in order on Friday. The campsite overlooks the western end of RAF Mildenhall. E-3 'SHUCK81' took off noisily at 2250 which was very gratifying.

Terry and I had two tables on the stage. The show, which is free to enter, takes place in The Jubilee centre in Mildenhall with easy access to free parking and shops. As such, there was plenty of footfall during the day from enthusiasts and families alike. Terry's scratch built Schneider Trophy floatplanes and flying boats attracted much attention and my C-141 in European 1 colours jogged a few memories.

It was nice to see 144 represented on several club stands too. And how many model shows have a tombola? Looking forward to next year already.

Thank you for this report.
The models presented by both of you are magnificent.

Hi David, thanks for presenting the show write-up and photo's. The most rewarding aspect of the show for me was when two modellers informed us that their friend owns the very influential "Sea Wings" website. I was pleased because I was able to show them my two models that are two of the models that are presented on this site. The only down side of the show is that there is so little room, we are very lucky that we are given the best location in the show.
I hope we are as lucky next year.
Terry
