Bolton - January 2026

The 2026 tour opened in Bolton. One of the main fixtures of the calendar, this season opener is famously cold but busy - this year it wasn't too cold but was definitely busy with good traffic all day.

Vignettes from Emma and I. The models with open engine and cockpit parts got a lot of attention. Thank you Brengun and Sun Details 😉

Luftwaffe types - real and imagined.

The Yacht club - Mike's centrepiece dioramas always capture a lot of love.

Multi-engine types, including Huw's eye catching Peacemakers and Valkyrie

A myriad of types, including two seat A-10 from recently released Retrokit conversion.

Elsewhere in the show, this unusual build caught my eye - a 1/150 (that's within my tolerances for 144th 😉) build of a Chinese passenger ship Taiping which sank in 1949 and was the centrepoint of a drama film The Crossing.
