LRDG and SAS in the desert - 1941 - (Paint & Glue Minatures 3d prints)

Somewhere in North Africa, mid-1941, an SAS jeep and LRDG truck travel across the desert sands...

The idea for this scene came about when I saw the lovely desert drivers set from 3djson on eBay with figures sporting the head covering so iconic of the British operators in this campaign. Then when I discovered that Paint and Glue Minatures had some suitable vehicles, it all came to life - just lots of careful painting and some light weathering required.

I added a selection of crates, cans and accessories to fill these vehicles to the brim, per reference photos. The base was a simple canvas with a little moulding plaster. To add texture, I mixed some fine cork ballast in with the desert sand paste from AK Interactive to make it look more rocky and not as flat.
