Ahhh....de Havilland May 2024
A number of SIG members visited the DeHavilland museum on Sunday for what turned out to be a quite delightful show at the recently re-furbished museum, home to no less than three actual Mosquitos. Amongst the wonderful museum aircraft were a surprisingly large number of traders and clubs. Terry had...

Scottish Nationals, Perth 2024
Once again the SIG sallied forth for the two-day Scots nats on 27 / 28th April. The Dewar Centre is an excellent location and we had ample space to eventually show no less than 315 models (plus another 20 or so on Alastair's club stand) something of a record I think. Special mention for Connor who n...

Re: Museum of first jets
Great display Yves! You may have spotted I have a liking for early jets - especially the German ones - The Horten looks futuristic even now. It also shows a recurring theme that 144 does so well - groups and collections. Right from our early days with Terry's British helicopter and Schneider trophy ...

simple yet brilliant !
Came across this the other day Like all ideas of genius it's simple -- black glue. This is essentially a thin cement (like tamiya Extra-Thin etc) designed to capillary-action along seams and joins - the advantage being that you can now see exactly where it has gone (or not) Simples !! I've done some...

Peterborough (Stamford) show 03 March 2024
Yesterday the three Musketeers (Terry David & Mike, and before anybody says anything I'm Pathos) travelled the uncharted flatlands of Lincolnshire to a new venue and had a great day out. Peterboro' show, confusingly, is held in a school (actually it might be an Academy) in Stamford. Having found...

Re: Oakville,s Flower
Lookin' good!
For what it's worth I find Lifecolour paints excellent and very reliable. You can airbrush or brush-paint too. The U Boat and the KFK were both primarily Lifecolour. It's a bit hard to get sometimes but worth it.

Re: ICM's KFK
Thanks Malcolm
Ukraine colours only by chance....The only signal flag I could find that matched the two-colour pennant visible in a B&W photo I found is apparently the one for (number) 5 - which happens to be blue and yellow (pennant number? - boat has no other markings)
My best guess!

ICM's KFK
Spurred on by Malcolm's lovely ships I finally finished the KriegsfischKutter - built it full hull but finished up with it 'in' the water. Lots of research as ICM simply didn't model anything they had (presumably) no info about - but it goes together well enough............seems the Yacht club is ex...

Re: Oakville,s Flower
Malcolm that looks like it's coming on a treat - I just received my parcel from L'Arsenal and I have to say their stuff is astonishingly well detailed (the jeeps are going in my D Day landing craft)
