Re: Mildenhall, 7th June 2025.

The very mention of Mildenhall conjures fond memories of Bud, Burgers and Blackbirds.............

Good to see what two members can do - Terry's scratchbuilds never fail to impress (and inform) and of course your heavy metals were spot-on for the venue.

Nice one gentlemen!

If that didn't inspire on all levels I don't know what would! an absolutely marvellous idea, and taking it into schools has to be good news.

My salute sir!

Re: Airfix missile at 1/144 ....

Superb diorama. Very evocative and locally significant - I have been known to frequent the flying club at Breighton. Once upon a time it was a Thor base, three launchers being sited on the old main runway. There were also two batteries of Bloodhounds to defend them. Like the Thor pads the Bloodhound...

Hinckley 6th April 2025

The SIG had a good, if somewhat cramped day out at Hinckley on Sunday. Given we only had six feet and one chair (which on reflection sounds like a character in a Terry Pratchett novel) it is perhaps fortunate that both David Hart and 'Team T&E' - Tim and Emma - were away this year, presumably do...

Re: The one that got me started

If that's your first one it's pretty darn impressive! Lovely model superbly presented - I really like the retracting undercarriage, very effective. PS - just realised - I do believe I may have sat in the cockpit of that very aircraft - on my very first Air Cadet camp, West Raynham in nineteen harrum...

LCAC revival

I built Trumpeter's LCAC some years ago but unfortunately it suffered an accident which broke the ducted fan units and it had been consigned to a box for some considerable time. The safety guards for the props were always the part of the model I was least happy with - injection moulding simply canno...

Scale Model World 2024

Well it's the morning after another tremendous Telford - obviously pics will appear on the Forum in due course but just wanted to thank everyone for the hard work and commitment that produced another uniquely interesting display much admired by all visitors. On which subject, incredibly, MS Modeller...
