The SIG recently had a day out with real aeroplanes at Yorkshire's Breighton Airfield - think Shuttleworth in't North -

The Real Aeroplane Club recently held its annual 'G George' * day and Tim, Emma, David Ferrari and yours-truly were there to enjoy the 1940's atmosphere as well as a host of superb aircraft. There were masses of re-enactors and vintage vehicles too so it counts as a reference trip (Emma was also seen on the rifle range)

We actually showed some models last year, this year the display was very appropriately, provided by Bomber Command SIG

Breighton is well worth a visit if you are in the area - most weekends aircraft fly in and there are numerous special events through the year. Yorkshire Air Museum is only just down 't road at Elvington too !

*Breighton was primarily a Halifax base, albeit Lancasters also operated from there - including the eponymous 'G George' which is preserved in the Australian War Museum. Post War Breighton was 'project Emily' base with Thor missiles protected by a Bloodhound Squadron.

Great day all round!
