SIG144 can pop up anywhere!
After getting an invitation from the show manager at the Morecambe event earlier this year, we had the chance to take part in a small model railway show at the Carnforth Railway Station Museum.
We had a small display, including some new railway themed scenes which will be on the full show circuit soon. We displayed alongside friends from the Morecambe Model Club and the tables definitely attracted some interest and enquiries from the visitors.
Chris from the Morecambe club had recently completed this vintage (Revell?) shuttle kit complete with partly scratch built base.
Squeezed into the small station buildings gave a most unusual layout with outdoor space for the traders under the station roof.
More model show venues should have passing steam locomotives though.
The highlight of the show was the Museum of Transport model railway, a OO gauge (1/76) epic with a sea of animated figures and activities going on.
The show also featured a beautiful model of a minature park railway.
And a real working cinema, playing Brief Encounter of course.
A fun weekend and we are looking at going back next August.
