My love of WW2 aircraft in postwar use in obscure air forces continues...

Uruguay, 1952

An air force pilot pays a visit in his F-51D to a Naval Air Station, being met by the base commander while ground crew take a close interest in the shiny Mustang.

Avenger is the vintage but still nice Minicraft, Mustang and Hellcat are the Eduard/Platz models. Decals by LF Models (and stumbling on these in Hannants is the whole reason for the scene!).

Car is the lovely Brengun resin. Figures are generic model railway people. Base is scored and painted foamcore.
