Mikro Mir 1/144 Blackburn Beverley

Post by adey m »

My Mikro Mir Blackburn Beverley tactical heavy lift transport with scratchbuilt ground equipment. I decided to model it in the short range heavy parachute drop configuration with no cargo doors fitted so as to show off the detailed cargo interior, but this meant that I had to drill out every porthole which I then glazed with Humbrol Clearfix. The camouflage is brush painted with Humbrol enamels to represent an aircraft in Middle East camouflage, but I remember seeing one in these colours looking so out of place on the Far East flightline at RAF Seletar in Singapore in 1967. Far East aircraft wore green and grey camouflage.
I manage to obtain a soft demarcation between colours by gently dabbing with a brush dipped in white spirit before the paint has dried.
