B 36 (plural)

Post by HuwMorgan »

Here are a pair of B-36 I built as a back-to-back comparison between the old Hobbycraft kit (here in the BM-33 Arctic paint) and the newer Roden late version with the jet boost. Surprisingly, I thought the Hobbycraft kit to be better detailed and easier to build, although both need serious work on the leading edge intakes. Full build artictle in the May edition of Scale Aircraft Modelling.

Those are rather nice!
Looking forward to seeing them up close sometime soon.
The intakes look more accurate on the Roden version (?) but I think in reality they are not of a uniform shape.
I was lucky enough to get close to one earlier this year:

A bit mind-boggling.
