The SIG had a great day out at Lincoln yesterday, lovely Autumn sunshine and a friendly venue
The two Davids, Hart and Ferrari Emma, Tim and YT found ourselves with a super 12' double depth table in a
sunny hall. The low sun resulted in some squinting during set up (and at one moment some concern when a voice, seemingly from out of said celestial glare, called my name...............luckily he wasn't speaking in capitals........)
Bargains were had, old friends met and worlds put to rights. Personal thanks to all for help with breakdown and transporting bags 'n boxes to the car - very much appreciated.
next stop Telford!
Lincoln 15th October 2023
Re: Lincoln 15th October 2023
Historic Lincoln was our destination this weekend. A lovely city and a nice school venue for the event.
Not quite as much table space as Keighley, but we put together a good display.
Emma's pastoral scenes and Gundams always attract a lot of attention, especially from non-modellers visiting the show - and it was nice to see a few families call in, hopefully inspiring modellers of the future.
I had my usual array of mini-vignettes
Including the Valom Sopwith Camel, finished just 12 hours before we set off!
A grand variety of types, big and small, aviation and nautical from Mike and two Davids make a great retort to anyone concerned that there is not enough to build in 144th.
Although the unlimited potential of scratchbuilding beats out any limitation in kit availability.
This selection, scratched by David, are based on British paper designs of the early 1950s.
A British spaceplane.
Or the Scruggs Pigeoncatcher - a completely freeform design from 1911 which came with a complete history guide!
