Tupelov G.5 MTB

Post by MalcolmR »

Just finished my latest boat. It,s the Brengun Tupelov G.5 MTB. Thought I would make it in a docking scene as I believe these boats had a problem with salt water corrosion so this gave me the opportunity to show the whole boat out of the water. As you can see the figure standing on the deck must have had light fingers as he has managed to "acquire" a duffel coat from somewhere.

Nice build and setting. How was the kit to make?

Overall very nice although the were a few air bubbles on the bottom of the hull but I did not fill them as they would not be seen. The fit of the kit was very good. the guns, masts, prop shafts & torpedo guides for the hull rear were VERY delicate so I gave them a coat of thin super glue while still attached to the pouring stub. (A bit late for one of the guns as the barrel was already broken and this is why there is only one gun fitted to the finished boat as i could not replace it as it is SO fine) I use the super glue trick on any delicate item (such as fine undercarriage legs to give them a bit of help)
