A prototype for David : Bernard 260

Post by teddybeer »

A few years ago, I bought this resin kit, a little bit confidential, of a pre-war French aircraft prototype.

Finally, after thinking, big thinking, I convinced myself.... to mold it and cast it in metal.
And then, the result of the casting was a good surprise, even very good...

As I am distracted, the only difficulty was that I noticed late that the plane had an open cockpit while the kit had realized closed. It was necessary to do surgery....
And here is, at 1/144, the Bernard 260 prototype, unfortunate competitor of Dewoitine D.510.

I have noticed the Bernard aircraft and I really like your model. I suspect that if I started on French 1930s fighter prototypes I would never stop! There was a good series of articles on the 1930s French fighter programmes in Air Enthusiast magazine in the 80s. My current projects are a postwar French aircraft and a prewar Belgian one.
