Forgot to add - the Heroes figures look excellent and and I see there is a very interesting range of figures and accessories on their site, if a way could be found of smuggling them into the UK.

After two big aircraft, I felt like going to a miniature. This was an experimental fighter prototype from about 1940. Not sure whether to call it a scratchbuild or a kitbash: the front fuselage came from a Zvezda I-16.

I thought this looked nice in monochrome for a 40s touch. I took the photo before final touching up and varnishing. This is the S & M kit (I got it fairly cheap) which is very much a mixed bag. The positives are that the resin moulding is extremely clean and the parts fit is good. The downsides ...

Wallis did manage to make the Wild Goose configuration fly. I always think of Wallis as a prime example of being far ahead of his time, but not necessarily in the right direction. I don't think there's much prospect of a Trumpeter kit of this in the near future, do you? Have you got the Midland Counties "Flying Saucer Aircraft" book? I don't think it mentions this one though it covers a lot of aircraft that are not round at all.
