Another prototype; a small liaison amphibian built by Beriev in the late 40s, but not put into production.

Forgot to add - the Heroes figures look excellent and and I see there is a very interesting range of figures and accessories on their site, if a way could be found of smuggling them into the UK.

Very nice! The figures are effective.

After two big aircraft, I felt like going to a miniature. This was an experimental fighter prototype from about 1940. Not sure whether to call it a scratchbuild or a kitbash: the front fuselage came from a Zvezda I-16.

I thought this looked nice in monochrome for a 40s touch. I took the photo before final touching up and varnishing. This is the S & M kit (I got it fairly cheap) which is very much a mixed bag. A Warwick would be a pretty easy scratchbuild if you could cope with the painted window convention.

That looks like a lovely model of an interesting prototype.

I don't think there's much prospect of a Trumpeter kit of this in the near future, do you? Have you got the Midland Counties "Flying Saucer Aircraft" book? I don't think it mentions this one though it covers a lot of aircraft that are not round at all.
