Re: Vanguard Fund Raising Appeal.
A worthy cause deserving of support - very soft spot for Invicta - there was a time when they were my local airline. Of course it will have to be restored as a fully inter-active experience for the visitors with virtual tours hosted by a cute CGI character who will explain all parts of the giant pla...

That gives a whole new meaning to 'surface detail sanded off and replaced with finer' ! As a mere assembler of kits it never ceases to amaze me what you scratchbuilders achieve - lovely !!

Re: LCM 120
Lovely job on the camo scheme too (I was going to say 'spot on' but a pun too far methinks). if it had been applied today they would call it 'digital' - then it was 'labour-intensive sailors with brushes'.
nice one sir !

St Ives 24th September 2023
The SIG had a crackin' day out at St Ives (no, not the Cornwall one) on Sunday. Huge thanks to Terry for organising it. Brampton club (whose show it is) always have a slick operation so set-up was greatly aided by Terry having got the table ready for David and YT when we got there. Expecting there j...

Re: Keighley - 17th September 2023
I suspect that with Terry showing over at Wings n Things we probably had more models on show on Sunday than the SIG has ever had. My thanks to everybody concerned for what proved to be classic demonstration of the how the SIG can respond to changing situations. still an MRCS!* We had anticipated a r...

Re: HDML (Curates Egg)
This is a great help - I've been toying with getting one of these and it's good to know what you're up against. The 3D printing process isn't quite there yet, as you say there are often those 'wood grain' layers where compound curves are involved and it's brittle and hard to sand. That said quality ...

Lovely job Tim ! Those Dragon models are in funny plastic but they make up a treat - the extra etch is a bonus and sometimes the separate tracks work for you - cut up to replicate 'sag' - There doesn't seem to be any particular pattern to when you get them mind. I really must finish some more armour...

Stoke (Stafford) Aug 27th 2023
SIG goes to Stafford The SIG had a great day out yesterday at the Stafford Show Ground venue. Huw, Emma & Tim plus yours truly showed a lot (I don't think we actually counted, so the technical term 'lot' applies)of models across the various genres. Under-table sales are allowed at Stafford so Hu...
