For my sixtieth birthday in 2020 my family gave me a model I’ve wanted to make for 40 odd years, the Discovery from 2001: A Space Odyssey. RAF Phantom FGR2

This is a fairly serious conversion from an old LS F4E Phantom to an RAF Spey powered aircraft. Obvious changes are of course the nose but I also thickened the fuselage slightly too.

I've had this for a long while but last year I decidedto really do a job on it. At Telford in 2019, when I met up with you guys, I got a set of decals from 144th.com and that completed the job.

It's 41 inches long. The gift included all the etched brass interior parts so that means lighting needed too.
