Re: Oakville,s Flower

The fun continues. Made up the K178 and the name Oakville on my computer to the right sizes and printed out on clear decal sheet and applied to the ship. The reason Iv'd decided on making a model of Oakville was the story about the sinking of U-94. Photo763008o HMCS Oakville battle with U-94.jpeg Wh...

Re: Oakville,s Flower

The fun continues or not. Sent to Sovereign Ensign for four tins of enamel paint. The P&P charge was £8.50! however I got an email from them asking if I wanted to go ahead with the purchase as the 2 quotes they had from couriers was £25 from Amazon or £13 from Parcel Force. Order cancelled. Foun...

Re: ICM's KFK

Nicely done Mike. I like how you got the Ukrainian colours on. I also got some of those Hobbycraft bases you mentioned. Hope to have the HMCS Oakville ready for Northern Model Show (Yacht Club)

Re: Oakville,s Flower

Added tread strips to the rear gun platform & then cut down the height and added to the rear engine room casing. Added and masked the clear parts of the engine room skylights. OAKVILLE 19-02-2024 + (3) GUN TUB.JPG Decided to do a full hull display so fitted inner hull strengthening for mounting ...

Oakville,s Flower

Oakville's Flower. Flower class corvette. (Short Forecastle) The build. Always wanted to convert the Revell 1/144 Snowberry Corvette since it came out but had never built up the courage to start. I have made the 1/72 kit using “Flightpath,s” detail sets many years ago. (Still have it. HMS Bluebell) ...

HEIEN Under new managment

Under New Owners. Hi all, Bought this kit as I thought it was cheap for a 1/144 scale ship of this size. After deciding to buy the deck overlay, that almost doubled the price! but I'd never tried a deck overlay before. After a bit of research, I decided to build it as “Heien” as used by the Japanese...

CMB 213

Hi all, Looks like I got my alphabet wrong, CMB instead of HDML. No matter. Bought & built the Brengun Tupolev G-5 torpedo boat a while back and thought about reworking it to a CMB. Well, I obtained a second Brengun boat to give it a try. After studying some photos & dimensions, (the 55ft CM...

Hi all Just completed my second NeOmega model of the T.I.D. tug This time I have completed it as T.I.D. 164 as preserved at the “Medway Maritime Museum” Chatham Docks. Obviously, a different paint scheme and a few additional parts added. Also have tried a different water base. (The” Scenic,s Water” ...

Vanguard Fund Raising Appeal.

Fund raising appeal. Looking for funds to repaint a much-neglected exhibit at the museum. (Maybe a winner of some high paying competition) If and when funds are raised it would then be a difficult decision on whether to finish it as is, or to repaint it as the iconic BEA scheme. Also, will have to r...
