HMS Jervis

Hi all,
I decided to send for the most expensive kit I have ever bought in one go. (and sight unseen) After the success the 4 submarine builds last year, I decided to save my pounds up and send to China for a model of “HMS Jervis” a J class destroyer. After studying the photos on the internet as ...

Re: Trumpeter Zhong Shan

Now I started the fitting out stage of the build. Deck overlay to the fore-deck bridge, sunshade, spotlight, handrails & screens fitted. Looked a bit odd without anything under the sunshade so made some voice communication pipes which might not be correct but added a bit of interest.
Engine room ...

RNLI Type B Lifeboat. Atlantic 85

RNLI Type B Lifeboat. Atlantic 85

Messing around in my stash I found this rigid inflatable hull, I do not know where it came from, but I thought I could make it into a RNLI Type B Lifeboat, “Atlantic 85” as it appeared to be close enough for a 1/144 model. All it meant was to scratch build the ...

Re: NeOmega Archer Class Patrol Boat HMS Smiter

The hull was mounted onto a building stand and the superstructure added after first painting the enclosed control room and adding windows. Curtains added on the crew windows to the rear of the superstructure. The rescue dummy was added to the rear superstructure

NeOmega Archer Class Patrol Boat HMS Smiter

Neomega Archer Class Patrol Boat.

Received my model of the Neomega Archer Class Patrol Boat at the end of November 2025 and what a nice kit it is in the box but on closer inspection noticed that some of the most obvious details were not correct. How do I know, I spent 18 months studying and ...

HMS Alliance

Fool that I am I went and bought the A Class submarine HMS Alliance as I had already made the other British submarines that are available in the series. 2 of them were very good and 2 mediocre but with work are also nice kits.

Work started by removing the printing scaffolding and ...

Airfix Artimus Starter Kit.

The latest in progress in US manned space flight

This kit looks nice and simply and it is until you get to the painting stage and it then gets really interesting. Airfix supply a set of acrylic paints and for the younger or inexperienced modeller who will buy this kit it will do the job, but if ...

Keithley 2025

Thank you “Keithley” for a great show. This is my view of a great day out. Tim somehow arranged an extra bit of space for our SIG so that all attending and wanting to show off the SIG,s building efforts to anyone attending the show was catered for. For my part I was given almost 3 whole tables which ...
