Spanish Civil War Bf109 (Armory)
Spanish Civil War Bf109 (Armory)
Somewhere in Spain, early 1937. A bemused ground crew take another look at a Condor Legion pilot's complaint about a sticky gear lever...
A fun little project. The Bf-109B is from the Armory kit, goes together fine with nice detail - alternative canopies so you can have one open is a great touch.
Decals are from the box but I did vary from the painting guide which showed a smaller black roundel and top hat, since this photo shows larger emblems.
The truck is an Italian SPA Dovunque 35 which the Condor Legion ground crew have 'borrowed' from their Italian comrades. It is a 3D print from Butlers Printed Models. Decent detail and very cheapnto buy, but the roof had very obvious styrations that didn't seem to respond to sanding, so I used tissue paper, hardened with PVA glue and painted, to represent the canvas cover.
The figures are from Arrowhead Minatures, the Luftwaffe ground crew set. It all sits on a cork coaster.

Very nice! The figures are effective.
